　　A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world. Everyone you meet is your mirror.

　　Mirrors have a very particular function. They reflect the image in front of them. Just as a physical mirror serves as the vehicle to reflection, so do all of the people in our lives.

　　When we see something beautiful such as a flower garden, that garden serves as a reflection. In order to see the beauty in front of us, we must be able to see the beauty inside of ourselves. When we love someone, it’s a reflection of loving ourselves. When we love someone, it’s a reflection of loving ourselves. We have often heard things like “I love how I am when I’m with that person.” That sim* translates into “I’m able to love me when I love that other person.” Oftentimes, when we meet someone new, we feel as though we “click”. Sometimes it’s as if we’ve known each other for a long time. That feeling can come from sharing similarities.

　　Just as the “mirror” or other person can be a positive reflection, it is more likely that we’ll notice it when it has a negative connotation. For example, it’s easy to remember times when we have met someone we’re not particularly crazy about. We may have some criticism in our mind about the person. This is especially true when we get to know someone with whom we would rather spend less time.

　　Frequently, when we dislike qualities in other people, ironically, it’s usually the mirror that’s speaking to us.

　　I began questioning myself further each time I encountered someone that I didn’t particularly like. Each time, I asked myself, “What is it about that person that I don’t like?” and then “Is there something similar in me?” in every instance, I could see a piece of that quality in me, and sometimes I had to really get very introspective. So what did that mean?

　　It means that just as I can get annoyed or disturbed when I notice that aspect in someone else, I better reexamine my qualities and consider making some changes. Even if I’m not willing to make a drastic change, at least I consider how I might modify some of the things that I’m doing.

　　At times we meet someone new and feel distant, disconnected, or disgusted. Although we don’t want to believe it, and it’s not easy or desirable to look further, it can be a great learning lesson to figure out what part of the person is being reflected in you. It’s sim* just another way to create more self-awareness.

It is no use offering the manual laborer, tired out with a hard week’s sweat and effort, the chance of playing a game of football or baseball on Saturday afternoon. It is no use inviting the politician or the professional or business man, who has been working or worrying about serious things for six days, to work or worry about trifling things at the weekend.

　　It may also be said that rational, industrious, useful human beings are pided into two classes: first, those whose work is work and whose pleasure is pleasure; and secondly, those whose work and pleasure are one. Of these the former are the majority. They have their compensations. The long hours in the office or the factory bring with them as their reward, not only the means of sustenance, but a keen appetite for pleasure even in its simplest and most modest forms. But Fortune’s favored children belong to the second class. Their life is a natural harmony. For them the working hours are never long enough. Each day is a holiday, and ordinary holidays when they come are grudged as enforced interruptions in an absorbing vacation. Yet to both classes the need of an alternative outlook, of a change of atmosphere, of a persion of effort, is essential. Indeed, it may well be that those whose work is their pleasure are those who most need the means of banishing it at intervals from their minds.

　　寒風漸起的夜晚，關于木蘭的記憶總會在這樣的觀景里不期而至，依稀如昨，只是我很少或是不敢主動前去觸碰。有時候想著，就干脆讓時間來沖淡彼此間的感覺，或者是直接斬斷這種若有若無的念想，讓它在如許的煙波歲月中凝成一個淡淡的剪影。

　　印象最深的一次寫關于她的文字，是身在西北高地的某個夜色蒼茫的時刻，那會我趴在電腦桌前，一遍又一遍咀嚼著與她談訴的每一個細節(jié)，腦海中盡是她體重從下降至上升的模樣，憐惜之情溢于言表。繼而回想起中學時與她經(jīng)歷的往事，沖動卻清醒地想一下子出現(xiàn)在她的面前看她一眼。多年后她對我說，當我把那些文字發(fā)給她看時，她感動得淚流滿面。我想，如若當時我真的在那會去找她，如今陪伴她的，會不會是我，或者說，她會不會愛上我。

　　那時候很少正式和她談及愛情，觸及更多的，僅僅是夾雜在友情中朦朧的曖昧意味。就是在這樣的曖昧中，我們一路走了過來。

　　曖昧中除了嬉笑打罵，除了散步聊天，或者說除了分班后斷斷續(xù)續(xù)的交流和嘆息，卻也說不上有什么可歌可泣的事情發(fā)生。仔細想想，相聚的日子實在不多，甚至遠遠比不上她與其他朋友溝通的時間。可不知道為什么，每一次的回憶，總有一種如細水般的感覺植入心脾，那是一種別樣的心動和傷感。

　　這種心動和傷感從何而來，我見道的很清晰。第一次心動，是她剛轉到班上之時。當時感覺班**似乎對她比其他人客氣，或者說是比對其他人好。我看她頭發(fā)披肩，臉蛋白里透紅，衣服似乎有些過寬，卻似乎比班上很多同學都來得干凈清澈，加上一對鳳眼，黑漆漆的眼珠撲閃著幾絲警惕、靦腆、貴氣和倔強，咋一看，少年的心中一震，腦海便碎碎念叨：這位姑娘不好惹，有點冤家的味道，但像是個冷美人。

　　果然不好惹！一逗便拳如雨下；果然是冤家！居然對我姓名似曾相識，好幾次排座位居然鬼使神差的距離很近，甚至鄰桌。于是免不了聊天，開玩笑。我見她*日里走路時表情略顯嚴肅，印象中喜歡穿一雙*底鞋，一個人走路步子邁得比較快，話不是很多，但和我聊天時似乎是個例外，我喜歡看她笑，笑起來花枝招展，如同家鄉(xiāng)的山茶花般燦爛。是的，我們一起聊天時總是笑的多，很多話總是翻來覆去地說，翻來覆去地拿來調(diào)侃，甚至連口頭用語都有幾分類似。譬如喜歡說“如果……”“其實……”。她習慣說我的一句話便是，“你看咧，講話喜歡講一半……”然后嗔怪的拍我一下，跺一下腳。其實我內(nèi)心深處確然沒有說話說一半的初衷，只是由于少年的含蓄和靦腆，少了快言快語的直截了當，少了言簡意賅的表述。譬如在表達對她的好感、表達這份曖昧之時，總是無法清清楚楚地闡明。但我卻知自己已在不知覺中動了心。

　　這份心動我一直深藏。我的隱藏如同深淵，摸不著底，如今思來竟連自己都驚訝不已。她有幾次都疑惑地問我，為什么要極力撮合她和克文？我聳聳肩，故作鎮(zhèn)定地搪塞過去。其實每一次我內(nèi)心都在暗罵自己：你好陰暗，究竟是何居心!為何總是反其道而行之。

　　然而她畢竟最終沒有和克文走在一起，即便他倆相處的時光比我多得多。感情是件奇妙的物事，如同用手緊握細沙一般，越是使勁，失卻的越多。我想，如果當初我能像現(xiàn)在這般直白地告訴她彼時的想法，結果會是怎樣呢？有諺語說，言辭的靈魂就是行動。你不行動，靈魂就將消失，感覺就會湮滅。我深刻體味到這句話中透出的冷峻蕭然之意。

　　初三時的分班成為彼此情感分叉點。似乎在守望終點的那一刻，一個選擇向左一個選擇向右。偶爾的交流隨著高一的再一次分班已變得愈加稀少。從那時起我強烈的感覺到彼此間開始漸漸疏遠了。她過得好不好，交了哪些朋友，經(jīng)歷了哪些情感波動，我對此一無所知，只能間或從旁人的口中獲知有關她的一二事。

　　好幾次我會在去食堂的路上遇見她，她拿著碗，還是齊肩秀發(fā)，還是*底鞋，還是快步走著，鳳眼很少斜視，熟悉的倔強。但從彼此匆匆一瞥的瞬間，我的心間總是能感覺到有一種異樣的東西在閃爍，雖是低頭匆匆而過，雖是淡淡一笑而過，我的心底總是泛起漣漪。有時候我很擔心，我擔心我心底的感覺僅僅是自我的一廂情愿：誰知道她心里的想法呢？說不定在新的環(huán)境中，她早已不再如我對她這般對我了。感情最怕的就是獨角戲。

　　相處最難的是猜心，猜心最難的是根本就沒有相處的機會。那樣的猜測，僅僅是一種意念的支撐或幻想。

　　我們的陌生感在延續(xù)，從各自陪伴身邊的人群中體現(xiàn)得愈加明顯。偶爾的一次，我聽說她交了男友，我如同電擊般呆若木雞，心似乎在不斷沉淪，渾渾噩噩地度過了莫可名狀的一段日子。這樣的苦楚甚至直接影響了我的感情抉擇。后來她時而會問到我和芳的事情，其實我很想對她講的是，芳也時常問到我和她的事。只是那時我心中已經(jīng)認定，她的心已經(jīng)屬于遠方。

　　再后來我們都**大學，相隔千里。我以為這樣的感覺經(jīng)歷了時間和距離的洗刷，應該早已化作流水悄然東流。然而從踏入大學的那一刻，在我佇立黃河邊上的那一刻，在我爬上西北的高原仰望宇宙蒼茫的那一刻，關于她的往事伴隨著思念總會油然而生。自習時，我就想，如果有一個她在身邊一起看書，說笑，該有多好；運動時，我就想，如果有一個她在身邊一起打鬧，該有多好；油菜花開時，我就想，如果有一個她也在一起采擷，該有多好；想家時，我就想，如果有一個她在一起陪伴，該有多好。那段時間我的很多文字中，都帶著她的影子，我寫了很多淺薄但卻真摯的詩句來寄托這份幽怨與哀愁:

　　現(xiàn)在看書的人越來越少，好像游戲、圖片比文字更有沖擊力，對啊在快節(jié)奏時代誰還會想看密密麻麻的文字呢。

　　就連我也好久都不想看書，根本就是看不進去。但是又去了幾次書店，發(fā)現(xiàn)了幾本好書，就勾起我了強烈的讀書欲望。在書店還是可以看見很多都市人對知識渴求。明白還是只有不斷學習、隨時充電自己才會有更多提高。

　　由于是學習出版專業(yè)，所以我對圖書非常**。但凡經(jīng)過書店都要去看，在大學的時候借了很多書，讀書卡寫得滿滿的，會把讀書心得記下來，方便以后忘記看下心得就能記得。自己也會買一些文學刊物等書籍，總之記得書桌、柜子都放不下書，無奈連床尾都擺了一些書，也方便睡覺前閱讀。

　　旅途有圖書相伴是件好事情，每次無論是坐車回家還是旅行，都會帶本雜志或者報紙，那種感覺很舒服，文字是心靈的雞湯，而窗外飛馳過的美景都是一抹明媚的陽光，放下心中雜事，擁有一個愜意、美好的心情�，F(xiàn)在坐動車很滿意列車上都有雜志很不錯，所以不用自帶了。

　　畢業(yè)時很多東西都扔了，惟獨自己喜歡的書籍是一箱一箱拿回去了。有次坐火車好心人幫我放置箱子，非常吃力得說：“小妹你這一箱子是石頭吧”。我尷尬笑了笑，更悲催的事，由于過重連箱輪子都壓壞了，一個人拖著沉重的箱子，周圍是異樣眼光-深刻的記憶。

　　工作后再無心看書，根本沒有精力閱讀，有時有空想看，又發(fā)現(xiàn)力不從心根本看不進去。

　　當真的想看的時候，發(fā)現(xiàn)自己身邊根本沒有可看之書。

　　由于現(xiàn)在是一個人在成都打拼，租房子搬家是常事。所以不敢有太多東西，并沒有帶什么書籍。想看書的時候只能去書店，書店是很有看書氛圍，但是總是一站幾個小時，多少有些累。回家想看書的，找個半天就是幾本**學課本書和一本《女人的資本》，這本書我看了N遍，每次感受都不用一樣。自己買書多少有些浪費，所以只好去圖書館辦個借書證就方便了。

　　一個想法由此而生:朋友那里借，或者誰在學校幫我借書，或者我還能去圖書館看書。我真的懷念上學時能天天泡圖書館的日子。但是現(xiàn)在還是要珍惜看書的日子，保持這個好習慣，隨時給自己充電 。

　　This sudden increase in the population of the developing countries has come at a difficult time. Even if their population had not grown so fast they would have been facing a desperate struggle to bring the standard of living of their people up to the point at which there was enough food, housing, education, medical care and employment for everyone to have a reasonable life.The poor countries are having to run faster and faster in their economic activity in order to stay in the same place, and the gap in wealth between rich and poor countries grows wider every year.

　　The most pressing problem created by the rapid increase in population is a shortage of food. More mouths have to be fed every year and yet a high proportion of the existing population are not getting enough of the right kind of food. Over the past two years the total amount of food has decreased, and of course the total amount of food per person has decreased even more shar*. More and more of the babies born in developing countries have been surviving infancy, and now nearly half the people living in those countries are under the age of 15.
