　　楚漢相爭時(shí)期，劉邦與項(xiàng)羽在靈壁激戰(zhàn)，劉邦敗北，屯兵滎陽。項(xiàng)羽授英布為“當(dāng)陽君”，率40萬進(jìn)駐九江。劉邦派“典謁官”隨何去勸說英布投降。英布則說隨何信口開河，然而他還是投降劉邦。劉邦故意氣他，后設(shè)宴款待，封“九江侯”。
