篇一:英文讀后感
Shen Congwen is known as the “modern China genre painter”, its novel to quiet dilute style, prose style, poetry and music to the artistic conception, depicts the beautiful scenery of the Xiangxi border, reflects the “beautiful, healthy, natural, and not contrary to the form of human life”, depicting many distinctive character true to life characters. His representative work “border town” fully embodies the main features of his novel art.
Some people say that the border town is a pastoral life in Xiangxi mountain village. It is a paean of sincere and passionate love. It is a poem without rhyme, written in the form of novel, and painted without color. Therefore, to appreciate the “border town” needs a unique vision, and if we take it as a general novel, we can not appreciate the true interest. I dont think thats true.
The border town, such a name, Mr. Shen is obviously want to show no utility with the simplicity of the local customs and practices, people are not utilitarian, old people often have favoured the boatman and transition. One cannot accept the money given, but the other does not give it to the old man. In the eyes of many people, it is inconceivable that it is enough to feel the simplicity of the customs of the frontier town. The author through some of the details of life, seemingly inadvertently, depicts the Xiangxi peoples honest and simple and honest character, reflects the beautiful realm of primitive human nature of the country, and describe the author to build national moral ideal.
But it also showed the materialistic meaning of the foreign culture, revealed Mr. Shens concerns. Most of the “snobbish” in the border town, is the owner of grain mill, grain mill appearance, is money together, she describes the lady very naturally out a copper, Tracy stuffed into the hands of. Border town local flavor, the erosion of foreign culture, exactly where? Mr. Shen can not make a satisfactory answer, in fact, this is the doubts and changes of the social system, the change of social system has its rules, we can only do their best to make the society better.
In the description of characters in the text, we can see that the image description in the article is deeply influenced by Chinese traditional artistic freehand brushwork, such as Cui Cuis image is full of Oriental beauty. Let the human heart move. Tracy kept in the long, the skin becomes dark, striking for the green mountains and rivers, a pair of eyes clear as crystal. Nature has long raised her and educated her, and she is innocent and lively, almost like a small animal. People are so good, just like a Huangji head, never thought of cruel things, never worry, never angry.
I met a stranger to be mindful of her on the ferry, the light eyes stared at the stranger, as always all fled into the mountains of the air, but to understand human heart and inorganic, leisurely in the water play.“ But Tracys beauty is not able to avoid her sad and poignant love story, the two son of Captain smoothly and fell in love with Tracy, Tracys Tianbao know love Nuo send, for the sake of my brother, go out into the beach, in case of accidental death. Nuo sends to feel that he is responsible for his brothers death, and leaves Cui Cui to leave his native place. Grandpa worried about Tracys marriage and died at last. In the end, Tracy left the ferry alone and waited for the Nuo to return.
The tragedy of Tracys love is a sure thing. Novel through a variety of ”misunderstanding“ to promote the development of the plot, to show the character of the soul world, revealed a wisp of sad sadness. Many activities of the old boatman were carried out around suns daughter to have a good home. But he feared that Tracy will repeat the tragedy of the mother, so he went on Tianbao tone, Tracy to solicit views on Tianbao brother Tracy, to tell her mothers story, sing the song sounds too late, so he did not take the Tianbao brother directly told Tracy, just remind Tracy pay attention to the music of the night. However, his efforts did not let Cui Cui understand, and no achievement Cui Cui and Nuo sent love, but lead to some misunderstanding. On the surface, he is a happy, forthright and humorous old man, but through his words and deeds, we can feel the old mans love in the heart of the contradictions and helpless loneliness.
Such a misunderstanding, Cui Cui has been kept in the dark until the old boatmans death. Hearing what other people said about the death of the old boatman, Cui understood many things that grandfather did not mention when he lived. The old couple singing, without big son died, and his son went to his grandfathers cold, in the village people with grain mill by Lian Nuo send dowry temptation Chou Chou, both the memory of her brothers death, and due to lack of Tracy care, was forced to accept the home grain mill, meaning still ferry, so angry the downside, grandfathers death, and how about tracy......
Anything that Tracy does not understand is now fully understood. Cui understand things, crying for a night. But things have been so far, can not be redeemed, can only wait for the return of the lonely. But so at the winter, that destroyed the collapsed Baita, again repaired. But the moon in singing, the Tracy in a dream for the soul of the songs float gently young people do not have to come back to the Dong tea. The man may never come back, maybe tomorrow, and the ending is painful and helpless, and full of poetic, desolate beauty.
篇二:英文讀后感
It seems to me that many readers’ English reading experience starts with Jane Eyer. I am of no exception. As we refer to the movie “Jane Eyer”, it is not surprising to find some differences because of its being filmized and retold in a new way, but the spirit of the novel remains----to be an independent person, both physically and mentally.
Jane Eyer was a born resister, whose parents went off when she was very young, and her aunt, the only relative she had, treated her as badly as a ragtag. Since Jane’s education in Lowwood Orphanage began, she didn’t get what she had been expecting——simply being regarded as a common person, just the same as any other girl around. The suffers from being humiliated and devastated teach Jane to be persevering and prize dignity over anything else.As a reward of revolting the ruthless oppression, Jane got a chance to be a tutor in Thornfield Garden. There she made the acquaintance of lovely Adele and that garden’s owner, Rochester, a man with warm heart despite a cold face outside. Jane expected to change the life from then on, but fate had decided otherwise: After Jane and Rochester fell in love with each other and got down to get marry, she unfortunately came to know in fact Rochester had got a legal wife, who seemed to be the shadow following Rochester and led to his moodiness all the time ----Rochester was also a despairing person in need of salvation. Jane did want to give him a hand, however, she made up her mind to leave, because she didn’t want to betray her own principles, because she was Jane Eyer. The film has finally got a symbolist end: Jane inherited a large number of legacies and finally returned. After finding Rochester’s misfortune brought by his original mad wife, Jane chose to stay with him forever.
I don’t know what others feel, but frankly speaking, I would rather regard the section that Jane began her teaching job in Thornfield as the film’s end----especially when I heard Jane’s words “Never in my life have I been awaken so happily.” For one thing, this ideal and brand-new beginning of life was what Jane had been imagining for long as a suffering person; for another, this should be what the audiences with my views hoped her to get. But the professional judgment of producing films reminded me to wait for a totally different result: There must be something wrong coming with the excellence----perhaps not only should another section be added to enrich the story, but also we may see from the next transition of Jane’s life that “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you would get.” (By Forrest Gump’s mother, in the film “Forrest Gump”)
篇三:英文讀后感
The night, the quiet night, to escape the noise of the city in the daytime, let himself immersed in a quiet, in his own small world, Mr. Shen Congwens ”border city“, thoughts with the change of characters in the books and ups and downs...
The border town is a love story, the plot is simple and graceful, Xiangxi mountain city tea Tong palm water dock Shun two sons of Tianbao and Nuo, while falling in love with the city side bexi old boatmans granddaughter Cui Cui. But Cui Cui was in love with Nuo. When Tianbao understood the truth of the love triangle, he knew not to be reluctant to withdraw from the competition. He had lost all of it, but unfortunately died. Although Nuo was still in love with Cui, his brother died in his heart, and he was misunderstood by the old boatman, And he left home in pain in Taoyuan. And Cui Cui alone bear all the changes, waiting, waiting for the person who may never come back, maybe tomorrow.
Poetic City, poetic life, poetic interpretation of life. The beauty of humanity reflected in the book is permeated with perfection, while Cui Cuis endless waiting shows the imperfection. Her love tragedy can be said to be the result of that age. She and exorcise could have been combined together to cultivate beautiful flowers of love. Unfortunately, the two people lost their hands and left long regrets.
And now who will give up his love? In todays society, who is willing to give up what he wants, perfect love is what we want to pursue. In the border town, Nuo gave up love for the sake of family ties, and family ties were important, but it was sad to give up love for the sake of family ties. And Cui, who did not know that Tianbao was because she could not get her love, went down and died, and did not know that exorcise was because she couldnt get her love and went away from the country. He did not know that his grandfathers sudden departure was all because of his happiness and worry. Later, after accompanying her Yang Ma soldiers to explain to her, she just woke up like a dream, which really made her feel sorry and pathetic for her.
This is the end of the story, what is the end? Leaving a suspense, did Nuo send back at last? Have they been together at last? I cant help falling into the illusion that I hope their lovers will get married. Seeing the ”border city“, let me make a doubt about the perfect love in the world again, and have an understanding of the human nature, but also understand that my own happiness should be fought for, wont get, and there is no regrettable.
The border town is such a tragedy of love and purity, which is permeated with light sadness and deep poetry, and a tragedy of human nature.
篇四:英文讀后感
The book I read this week entittled the Red and the Black, which is undoubtedly among the best liturature works. As a person who haven’t had much knowledge in literature, any comments on this work seem to be rather naive and even sort of reckless. But this is the only book I have access to recently. With much deliberation, I would like to write down following words.
The book mainly tells a story about a man named Julien, who came from a carpenter’s family and got a shrewd father and two elder brothers characterized by huge size and rudeness. Though he wasn’t quite athletic, he got talent with his memory. He could recite the whole contents of the Bible, which made him admired by people around him and win him a job as a family teacher. And this is the part where our story begins. Under his gorgeous face, there exists a relentless lust for fortune, power and status, all of which derive from his persuit of happiness, dignity and freedom and finally contributed to his downfall. He worshiped Nepolen the most, and he is willing to die a thousand times to win his success. He desires for love, yet sometimes he used it as a tool to obtain his status and power. However, he had never given up showing his sympathy for the poor and contempt to the Noble. His pureness blended together with ambition and felt self-abased and conceited at the same time. As a young man, he ignored what’s really important for him—being loved. And he just realized this until death was around the corner. The story is a tragedy, for he hasn’t got what he wanted in the end and he sacrificed too much for his contemporary fame and fortune. At the last few hours of his life, those happy times he spent with his loved ones gave him courage to face death penalty with calm . when he realized that he didn’t have to tolerate the world filled with fakeness or put a mask on his face, he died with ease.
Julien stands for the group of people coming from the low class in the society and hope to achieve success with their own efforts. These people usually don’t have the necessary conditions to become successful, but they will by no means stop trying or let God tells them what their lives should be like, instead, they are willing to sacrifice anything to realize their dreams and earn their dignity. For these people, no matter what the consequences their struggle may be, I should forever pay my tribute to them. To some extent, they are the makers of the world.
篇五:英文讀后感
”Gone with the wind“ is a work that the American author Margaret Mitchell has devoted ten years to a profound thought and artistic value. Novel is set in the American civil war, the role of multiple personality is distinct, full of youthful vitality, can say good, good at communication, capricious, and even a bit selfish scarlett, clever humor, vision, and do not break romantic feelings of rhett, smooth integrity brave, loyal bold ASHLEY, good skillful mei laney, etc., each character left a deep impression to the person.
What impressed me most was scarlett, the main character of the novel, which had many advantages and disadvantages. Let me feel the deepest is encountered when her mother died, father mental disorders, such as home into a nearly despair, after a series of strikes as a pampered since childhood to the big miss, her heart is a powerful force, she said: ”as god is my witness, I will not yield, I will get through this difficulty. Ill never be hungry again.
No, neither do my family. If I were to lie, to steal, to cheat, to kill, to testify, I would not go hungry.“ In the second half of the novel, in order to her family, sacrificing themselves, strong to shoulder the responsibility of maintaining the family, show the fortitude and courage of the female character, which makes me admire very much. No matter how hard the situation is, face it bravely and everything will pass. This is the most meaningful inspiration from scarlett in gone with the wind.

“Hills Like White Elephants”, one of Hemingway’s terrific works, is a story that happens at a train station in the Ebro River valley of Spain. An American and his girlfriend are drinking beers and having a conversation when they are waiting for the train. In the dialogue, the young man’s attempt of convincing the girl Jig to take an operation has caused a lot of arguments. Though they are not explicit about what this operation really is, I consider this operation an abortion.
The conversation between them suggests that they are talking about an abortion. In the text, the man says it is an awfully simple operation and “it is just to let the air in” (Hemingway, 373). “To let the air in” is a process of vacuum aspiration in America in the 1920s, which is commonly used as a method of induced abortion. What is more, in their argument, Jig says, “Once they take it away, you never get it back”(Hemingway, 374). The man also makes it clear that he does not want anyone else but her. And this statement indicates a third person is involved. What could be the thing taken away in an operation that you may still want it back? Who could come to get in their life if the girl does not take the operation? All we can come up with is a baby. The man does not want a baby before they settle down, before he is ready to take the responsibility of raising a family. And Jig is still struggling about whether to take this operation or not in their debates. So this is an operation to take the unexpected baby away---abortion.
Sceneries between the two lines of the rails are also indications of their two different choices in pregnancy. On one side, there is no shade and no trees but only barren land stretching toward the hills. On the other side, the land is covered with green, fertile fields and river. Barren is used to describe a woman who is unable to produce children while fertile represents female’s capability of producing babies. If Jig agrees to take the operation, then the baby will no longer exist and thus making her barren. But if she chooses not to, then she will be consider as a fertile woman who is able to produce babies. That is to say the two totally opposite views symbolize their dilemma of the pregnancy --- infertile or fecund, undergo the abortion or not.
The title of this story itself is a metaphor implying this is an abortion. White elephant denotes something that is completely burdensome, although it may be precious enough. And here in this text, the white elephant is the symbol of a baby—valuable but troublesome. There is no doubt that the baby is a treasure. But the fact is that they are a young couple traveling around the world without a place to settle down. They have neither enough time nor energy to take care of a baby. Even if they don’t have to worry about those material conditions, they are not psychologically ready yet. Problems like “requirements of being qualified parents” has never occurred in their minds. Based on both physical and psychology circumstances of the young couple, we can see that the baby is precious but also a burden. Hence the white elephant here is an intimation of an abortion.
The phrase “to let the air in” makes it quite clear that this is an abortion. And during their debates, we can get to know someone is involved in this young couple and the American is trying to get away from this third person by requesting Jig to take the operation. Furthermore, the two different landscapes on the two sides of the rails is also foreshadowing us the outcome of Jig’s choice. Take it, she is barren. Reject, fertile. And the white elephant becomes emblematic of a baby that could be a sweet burden in their life. This symbol strengthen the operation that has been talked about in the whole story is an abortion. With all these factors integrated together, we can conclude this is an abortion.

Title: The Little Prince
Author: Antoine de St-Exupery
Main Characters: The little prince, the pilot, the rose, the fox, the snake, etc.
Despite I’ve not in my childhood yet, I still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. The tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. This summer I’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. It’s the world-famous fairy-tale by the French author, Antoine de St-Exupery, The Little Prince.
As many other fairy-tales, the outline of The Little Prince is not very complex. “I”, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the Sahara. In this occasion, the pilot makes the acquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, the Asteroid B612. The little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because he has some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. In that case he left his own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.
On his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people, which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. Following the instruction of the geographer, he descends in the Sahara, on the earth.

霧都孤兒Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.
The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.
The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodneeventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

the resonance between me and the book makes me feel not only the kindneand the wickedneof all the characters in the novel, but what this aloof society lacks, and what I lack deep inside. These supreme resources I’m talking about right now are somewhat different from minerals, oil that we usually mention. They’re abstract like feelings, and some kinds of spiritual stimulation that all of us desire anxiously from one another ―― love and care.
Those charitable figures whom Dickens created in the novel are really what we need in life. They showed love and care to others, just as the gentle rain from the sky fell upon the earth, which was carved into my heart deeply.
Mr. Brownlow is one such person.
the other day he had one of his elaborate watches stolen by two skilled teenage thieves, Artful Dodger and Charley Bates, and thought naturally it was Oliver, who was an orphan and forced to live with a gang of thieves, that had done it because he was the only one near by after the theft had taken place. Being wrathful, he caught Oliver, and sent him to the police station where the ill-tempered, unfair magistrates worked. Fortunately for him, Oliver was proved innocent by one onlooker afterwards. With sympathy, Mr. Brownlow took the injured, poor Oliver to his own home. There Oliver lived freely and gleefully for some months as if he were Mr. Br……

His work there was dirty, tiring and boring .When David’s weak mother finally left him, he felt as if he had been an orphan in the world . It was the hardest time in David’s life but he never gave up. David ran away to his aunt for shelter, Luckily, Aunt Betsay agreed to help David and from then on, David’s darkest time ended. and begun his adventure of a new life. Through so many difficulties, David grew to be strong enough to solve problems and had his own happy ending. He fell in love with a pretty young lady, Dora, and married her Meanwhile Copperfield became a famous writer for living and also for his long-lasting dream. But then another tragedy happened--Dora died for she was too weak for a baby. Copperfield was so stricken that he decided to leave London and move to a faraway and silent place, where he continued his writing for three years. During the period, he kept in touch with Agnes, and his deep love on Agnes got clearer every day.?After he finished his book, he went back to London with a clear idea of what he should do. He proposed marriage with Agnes, who was so happy for she had been in love with him for so many years. They got married and lived happily ever since. David Copperfield’ life was always tough while he was always struggling for his freedom and his happiness with his hard-bitten heart. He experienced both the dark and bright sight of the society at the same time When I finished reading it, I realized there is power rising from the bottom of my heart. The power told me that I should study hard.? No matter how hard it is ! we should never give up. we all should fight against the gray things in our life. Finally, I drew a conclusion .Firstly, I must believe in myself if I want to succeed. Secondly, trying my best to do things is also very important. If you have great dreams, but you don’t make efforts to realize it , you won’t be successful. Never give up! David has set a good example for us. Maybe we can learn something from Copperfield!(588詞) ? ? 作品2:My thoughts after reading Wuthering Heights 作者:吳 超東陽市順風(fēng)高中 ?高二5班指導(dǎo)老師: 韋海寧 ? There are many people in the story. The first family is the Mr Earnshaw. Mr Earnshaw and Mrs. Earnshaw had two daughters---Cathering and Frances. Their son was Hingdley. Hingdley had a son who was called Harleton. They were living in the Wuthering Heights. But the second family---the Lintons were living in the Thrushcross Grange. Mr Linton and Mrs linton had a son whose name was Edgar. They also had a daughter, she was called Isabella. In 1770, Mr. Earnshaw came back from a long journey. He had brought a dirty, black-haired gipsy child. The child was called Heathcliff. As time went by, Heathcliff and Catherine were falling in love. But Hindley hated Heathcliff. He disagreed that Catherine played with Heathcliff. At last, Catherine married Edgar Linton because Edgar was rich, and she would be the most important woman for miles around. The main reason was that she can help Heathcliff with her husband ‘money. Hindley had made Heathcliff become a poor, dull farm worker. So Heathcliff hated Earnshaws , and Lintons . In 1787, Heathcliff had changed. He wore a confident, intelligent expression on his face, and his manner was no longer rough. The farm boy had become a gentleman. He had worked all his life to destroy these two families, the Earnshaws and the Lintons. He had got their money and their land. But he had lost Catherine. For something his whole body and heart and brain had wanted for so long! It’s a long fight! He wished it were finished! In 1802, Mr Heathcliff was there in bed, lying on his back. His eyes were so eagerly and fiercely, and he seemed to be smiling! He was dead! The three gravestones close to the moor Catherine’s, the middle one, is old one. On one side is Edgar Linton’s, and on the other is Heathcliff’s new one. Hindley’s son, Hareton and Catherine and Edgar’s daughter, Cathy got married. They were living happily.? The main reason for making the lover separate from is their selves .They are proud, selfish. They can’t decide their lives. As a result, love usually fails because of these reasons. In a word, I hope that everyone doesn’t start to cherish something until you have lost it. Please cherish what you have now. That’s my thought about Wuthering Heights. It’s really a good book. The story is wonderful, and the structure is also extremely excellent. The author Emily Bronte uses a series of flashbacks and time shifts draws a powerful picture of this story. Because of its wonderful story, excellent structure and graceful language, the book left a deep impression on me. I’d like to recommend it to other readers. 《特洛伊》英文讀后感
I have never been to Troy, but David Maule made me feel as if I were standing on the high wall of Troy, watching the fierce war。 Thanks to this British author, who adapted the famous Homer’s poem into a lively story, I found it easier to understand this story。
Though the story happened over 3000 years ago in a remote place, I was deeply fascinated by it。 The mysterious plot is one of the reasons why I loved The Story of Troy so much, yet I am more interested in the human heroes of the war。
Hector was the eldest son of king of Troy, Priam。 He was not only a real hero of Trojan, but was regarded the highest moral hero in Greek classic by later historians。
The war started because of the mischief of his brother, Paris, whom he didn’t appreciate。 However, since Hector was the mander of the Trojan army, he was obliged to fight with all force。 It was really a tragedy that such a valiant man died in the duel with another great warrior, Achilles。
It is natural to see death in a war。 As a famous Chinese parable says, “A life can be as slight as a piece of feather, or as weighty as Mount Tai! Sometimes, one’s glory walks hand in hand with one’s doom。 Achilles was such a typical person。 His personal charm made The Story of Troy more attractive。
He was so crucial because his every appearance in a war encouraged his fellow soldiers and terrified the enemies。 Actually, Achilles was half-god who was almost invincible in people’s mind。 That’s why his name was memorized long after his death。
Besides the two great men, the wisdom of Odysseus also proved him to be a great hero。 He didn’t want to attend the war because he was happily married and had a lovely son。 However, since his country was allied to Mycenae, he had to take the mand given by the king of Mycenae。
I’m quite sure that the story of the wooden horse is widely known, however, few people know who thought of the brilliant idea, that’s why I admired Odysseus so much because he was the person who got the idea。 Thanks to the horse, the ten-year war came to an end at last。 If you want to know how the wooden horse worked, just read the book。
The ancient Greeks believed that the gods and goddesses also played important roles in the origin, process and ending of the whole story。
The story of the golden apple was such an example。
When Eris, the goddess of argument and disagreement, threw out the golden apple to a wedding ceremony on Mount Olympus, a dispute happened。 Hera, the queen of gods, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, were all involved in the argument for the apple。
None of them was willing to give way, so they turned to Paris for a final judgment。 Tempted by Aphrodite’s beauty and promise, Paris handed the apple to her。 To keep her word, Aphrodite helped him to get Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world, as his wife。 That was the cause of the war。
Paris’s choice obviously annoyed the other two goddesses。 So during the war, they helped the Greek alliance army while some other gods, such as Apollo and Aphrodite, guarded Troy。
When Paris dueled with Helen’s former husband Menelaus, Aphrodite saved Paris when he was about to be finished off。
After the duel between those two people, there was a truce between the Greek alliance and Troy。 However, both Hera and Athena were not happy to see it。
Hera pursued her husband ZEUS:“ Now, will you send Athena to make the Troyjans break the peace?”(Page 22) Then with Zeus’s permission, Athena went down to start the war again and finally she brought the Greeks to success。
From the whole story, we can see that in ancient Greeks’ view, gods sometimes played a much more important role in their life。 However, with the rapid development of science, we have learned that the Greek gods never existed。 This is why a recent movie of Troy has not mentioned a single god。
Everything happened due to men’s ambition, love, loyalty or jealousy。 With those emotion and people’s effort, we human beings can acplish wonders and be master of the world。
God are of less importance than they used to be。 Nonetheless, the gods and goddesses made The Story of Troy more mysterious and marvelous。
I have learnt from the book more than the wonderful story of history, love and war。 I believe that human can determine their destiny by their own。 I highly remend this book to my friends with the same interest。

《三國演義》英文讀后感
Recently I have read a famous Chinese classical novel-The romance of the Three Kingdoms and I felt benefit a lot。 Let me tell you about my feelings。
The romance of the Three Kingdoms is one of the four great Chinese master pieces。 It was written by Luo Guanzhong, who was born in 1330。 It describes nearly 200 characters and tells the story from the late Eastern Han dynasty to the unified of Jin dynasty。
The minute I started to read this book, I was deeply impressed by the sentence at the beginning of the novel: “The empire, long divided, must unite; long united, must divide! It is so philosophical。 It reflected the main history of the Three Kingdoms, from the rebellion of the Yellow Turbans to the replacement of the division of the country into Three Kingdoms (Wei, Shu and Wu) by the Jin Dynasty。 In these periods, it showed a lot of heroic deeds, and what the heroes did had made a brilliant history。 In this novel, the hero I admire mostly is Guan Yu, the general of Shu。
“A man of enormous height, nine ps tall, with a two-foot-long beard flowing from his rich, ruddy cheeks。 He had glistening lips, eyes sweeping sharply back like those of the crimson-faced phoenix, and brows like nestling silkworms。 His stature was imposing, his bearing awesome! This is Guan Yu's appearance。 He was called as hero not only because of his handsome looking, but because of his precious characters。
He is the embodiment of loyalty, wisdom and bravery。 Once, when Guan Yu was having a battle with Cao Cao (the Master of Wei), he lost connection with Liu Bei(the Master of Shu), and finally he had to surrender because Liu Bei's family was with him。 Cao Cao appreciated Guan Yu's talents, he provided a fabulous palace and lots of money to Guan Yu。 Despite Guan Yu was taken good care of in the Cao Cao’s camp, but his heart was still with the Liu Bei’s camp。 He had never given up looking for his master。 As soon as he got the news of Liu Bei, Guan Yu had forced five passes and slew six captains, finally he found his master。 His behavior showed not only his loyalty to his master but also his bravery。
Admittedly, Guan Yu's death is also a lamentable。 Because of his placency, he looked down on the army of Wu, lost Jingzhou (an important City), finally, he flopped, and was killed by his personal enemy。
With his personal likes and dislikes, regardless of the consequences, it led to the disruption of the alliance between Wu and Shu, the whole situation was changed greatly。
Guan Yu’s lesson tells us: No matter how talented you are, you’d better remain modest and be humble。
This is a great novel that depicts the countless legendary stories。 We can learn not only the characters of the heroes, but also the political and military strategies。 It is a best way to experience the profound Chinese ancient culture。

小王子英文讀后感《A Book that Impacted Me Most》
I don’t remember the exact year I first read The Little Prince 。 Though the golden snake in the book plays a cameo role , I never forget the scene that he flashed kissed gently on the little prince’s ankle。 It made me be afraid to reread this book。
Later, I listened a Michael Wong’s song named Fairy-tale Story, the prince in his song is different from the prince in The Little Prince, the prince in the song is the same as Andersen’s tales’ princes, they all have happy endings。
However, I think The Little Prince is a sad story。 There is a saying: There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand peoples eyes。 Now, let me talk about my reading feeling。 This simple story flies over every corner of the world: a pilot (the narrator) who had an accident with his plane and crashed in the Desert of Sahara then he met the little prince from the planet B-612, and the narrator listened little prince’s travel experience of seven planets。 On the seven planets, he met a variety of persons。 They are the king, the conceited man, the businessman, the tippler, the lamplighter, the geographer and so on。
The Little Prince is a story belongs to adults who have childlike innocence。because children don’t understand the little prince’s deep sadness。This is not so much a fairy tale, as it is a tragedy。 This story tells the grow-ups’ world is full of empty, lost and loneliness with kids’ perspective。 Among the story, the alcoholic is impressive。 He was surrounded by a pile of beer bottles when the little prince saw him, and prince asked him why he is drinking, but he answered he want to forget his shame of drinking。 This short planet visit plunged little prince into deep puzzled。 He think the grow-ups are certainly very, very odd。 In kids' eyes, beautiful things must look with heart。 But the adults pay more attention on things’ appearance that is just a shell and they don’t believe the eyes are blind and the heart is true。
Through this story, it also made me understand what’s the love---love's more mineral, more dense, more bitter and more weighty than the earth's profoundest matter。
When I first read The Little Prince, I can’t understand the mean of love and never to think why should the little prince leave alone since he love his rose so deeply。 For years, I reread the story and think about it。 The simple true was first love。 The little prince didn’t know how to love and It was difficult to make him understand the rose’s heart, so it may lead to misunderstanding and hurts from time to time。 He leaved his planet because he can not accept the rose and himself。
This is why the little prince don’t know he have to leave : at that time, he had no idea he was in it。 The little prince don’t understand the meaning of tame until he met the fox later。 Then he produced the endless yearning for the roses and realized his responsibility。
“Do you want to be domesticated?” For me, this is a profound question。 In the book, the little prince met a fox and invited the fox to play with him, but he was refused。 The fox told him that he was not tamed。 “what does that mean--tame?” little prince asked。 The fox answered:” it means to establish ties: to me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys。 And I have no need of you。 And you, on your part, have no need of me。 To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes。 But if you tame me, then we shall need each other。 To me , you will be unique in all the world。 To you, I shall be unique in all the world!
Gradually the little prince was beginning to understand, because he remembered his rose and he thought his rose had tamed him。 So he chose to go back to his planet in the end。 But to the fox, the little prince’s farewell will make her sad, but the hurts because of love, she should learn to accept it gradually。 I believe there are full of hurts within serious and true love。
As long as the little prince flied to different planets and met a variety of persons can he understand himself andhis rose。 So I think traveling is a good way to experience life。

力與戶外英文讀后感
I have got a lot of interesting scientific knowledge from the books of National Geographic Reading Expeditions, some of which are about life, physics。 I really can’t help losing myself in the colorful pictures and clear words in the books。 After reading the books, I have been considering a question: What if we lived without science? Great changes have taken place in the world with the help of science。 In the past, life was nasty, brutish and short。 It is hard to imagine how our forefathers could do without so many conveniences that modern science brings about。 Back then, only a small group of people enjoyed the very few forts。 But the majority of people didn’t even have sufficient food, let along their privilege to be educated。 Anyway, it is science that changes the world and makes people’s life better and better, although it also leads to some bad aspects at the same time。
From the discovery of the gravity to the first step on the moon, we human beings have experienced a long process of developing science。 And now, this process is still continuing much faster。 New organisms are already being engineered, and new genetically modified crops promise benefits from higher yields and less use of harmful chemicals and so on。 A lot of examples are showing this point。 In the future, changes are likely to be even much greater as science reaches out to shape life itself。 Maybe one day, the possibility that life existed on Mars billions of years ago will be potentially one of the greatest discoveries of our time。 It is the force of the petition, we human beings’ inquiring mind and initiative that bring about the non-stopped development of science。 Therefore, it is difficult and impossible to prevent science from changing the world and our life as well。
At present, we are in two minds about science。 On the one hand, we are enjoying the sweet life as a result of the evelopment of science, and expect it to continue。 And we are showing our interests into some scientific expeditions, such as the astronomy, the alien civilization, etc。 On the other hand, we are distrustful of it, due to the lack of understanding of science。 Some people thus far are still very superstitious, and they would even believe in superstitions rather than believe in science。
Stephen Hawking, one of the most remarkable scientists in the world, once said, “In a democratic society, the public needs to have a basic understanding of the science, so that it can make informed decisions and not leave them in the hands of experts。” This has reminded me of Professor Alan G。 MacDiarmid from America, the person who got the Nobel Prize for chemistry in the year of XX。 In his lecture at Peking University this year, he put forward that science is people。 He also expounded the importance of the basic science for the public。 Evidently, every one of us does need science, or we can’t live without it。
Now that everyone needs science, why not take advantage of some means to give the public the right basic scientific knowledge? So when they face the problems such as acid rain, the greenhouse effect, nuclear weapons, environment destruction and some other problems, they can also make informed decisions on these subjects, just as what Hawking said。 One aspect relies on what is taught in schools。 But science is often taught in an uninteresting way and most students just learn it by rote to pass examinations。 However, the final goal of learning science is not to pass examinations or to get a higher score; instead, we should try to make full use of it to change our world and life。 While learning, we should try to ask more questions and we should have the courage of suspecting the knowledge in the books, as some of the scientific conclusions are likely to be corrected in the future。 Who knows。 So not only must we change our attitude towards science, but also the way of teaching and learning scienc
e。
In addition, science is always changing at a fast rate, and who we learn at school isn’t that sufficient to last a lifetime。 So the mass media including TV, radio, newspaper, magazine and publishing pany will play an important role in reporting the latest science in time。 Moreover, the mass media can also popularize basic science to the public, because only in this way will more people realize what on earth science is。
“Scientists and engineers tend to express their ideas in the form of equations because they need to know the precise values of quantities。 But for the rest of us, a qualitative grasp of scientific concepts is sufficient, and this can be conveyed by words and diagrams, without the use of equations”, said Stephen Hawking。
I agree with him very much, and, I’m fond of the wonderful words above, from Stephen Hawking。
For the development of science, are you ready?

哈利波特英文讀后感
I've just fininshed reading the first 4 Harry Potter books for about the 5th time through, and they're just as magical and affecting as they have ever been。 Everything is in here: suspense, adventure, mystery, humour, danger。 There's even some pretty satisfying paybacks。 The characters are fantastic and fantastically realistic。 There are bad people who turn out to be good guys and good people who turn out to be bad guys, just like life。
I think the thing I like best about these books is the message that it's okay to be different - to be not “normal! I would love for everyone in school to have hear that message。 It would probably reduce the bullying around the school。
These books value real thoughts。 Much has been made of Harry's rule breaking, but only once in the series so far does he break a rule for arbitrary personal gain。 Most of the time he makes a decision that what's right is more important than what's written。 And you know what? Life's like that sometimes。 I think it's great that kids are getting an example of how to do what's right even when it involves breaking rules。 The Potter books also show that there are consequences for rule breaking。 If not getting caught and getting a detention, then a spell going wrong and someone getting turned into a cat。 This shows that when you make a decision to go against the rules that things may not go as you expected and you have to take responsibility for the oute。

A Book of All Times
——Thoughts given by Sherlock Holmes and the Duke’s Son
Written in the first chapter of the book Pride and Prejudice is an extraordinary sentence of which even a person who has had only a brief look upon the book will not fail to receive a deep impression-It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife。 In terms of Sherlock Holmes, we’d better alter the sentence into “It is a fact universally accepted by readers throughout the world that an excellent book in possession of our famous detective Sherlock Holmes is undoubtedly a masterpiece of all times! Perhaps this is one of the most obvious explanations for the unrivaled popularity of “Holmes series” in the field of detective stories。 Overwhelmed by the remendations provided by my friends, I decided to take a look on this Sherlock Holmes and the Duke’s Son originally published by Oxford University Press。
As a whole, this book is about a case concerning the Duke’s missing son。 Arthur, the Duke’s son, was found out in a certain morning to have disappeared, acpanied with which was also the disappearance of the German teacher。 The school master Dr。 Huxtable then turned to the famous detective of the time Sherlock Holmes for help。 Realizing how tough and important the case is, Holmes immediately made up his mind to accept the case and followed Dr。 Huxtable back to Mackleton by train。 Having formed a rough idea about the whole matter, Holmes probed into the case immediately and had a careful investigation of the entire area shortly after the arrival, during the process of which he discovered the body of the German teacher Heidegger。 Finally, primarily due to his prominent ability as a detective, he managed to unravel the mystery and obtained the twelve thousand pounds promised by the Duke。
Having once started reading this fiction, I was pletely immersed in the mysterious story presented by the book。 As the saying goes, “Well begun, half done”。 At the beginning of the story, just like many other detective stories, the author gives us a brief description of the condition by the words of a client。 However, unlike other ones, this story first delineates the client’s strange behavior at length to indicate the severity of the incident in order to attract the readers to continue reading it。 As is known to all, vivid depiction is essential to detective stories since it can help the readers understand each figure’s characteristics and visualize the scenes, thus making the story more authentic and attractive。 Therefore, trying to present a “real world” to his readership, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the original “Holmes series”, has skillfully arranged the plots of the whole story from the perspective of Dr。 Watson, a character not so specialized in discovering the truth
hidde
n behind the enigmatic happenings as Holmes but so loyal to Sherlock Homes as a friend that he always acpanies Holmes wherever he goes。 In this way, he elaborately depicted every scene and character in the book, Apart from the special start, the ending of the whole story, being dramatic but reasonable, is certainly an outstanding one。 After all, except the author himself, who knows that the Duke’s seemingly ordinary secretary is in fact the Duke’s bastard? In addition, who knows that the Duke actually has already been acquainted with the whole thing before Holmes solves this plicated problem? Yet, surprising as it is, this ending seems so natural that it fits all the plots of the story perfectly well。 While enjoying this wonderful story, I could do nothing but admire the wonderful design of this masterpiece as well as the author’s gorgeous writing skill。 Closing my eyes, I can even “see” the story happening just like watching a film。 Not until then did I understand why the Japanese carto

lm Detective Conan used this “Conan” as the name of its hero。
As far as I am concerned, nothing is more admirable and surprising in the hero Sherlock Homes than his profound knowledge which has certainly assisted him a lot when he was studying the case。 Take the bicycle tyres for instance, Holmes actually is capable of recognizing 42 different varieties of bicycle tyres。 What’s more, according to his other stories, Holmes has studied different kinds of newspapers, cigarettes, people’s footprints and other special things as well。 Therefore, he seems to have the mastery of anything relevant to the cases he deals with。 Except for his illimitable knowledge, Holmes also specializes in arranging the facts in order and then finding the fact leading him to a GREat discovery or even the truth itself。 From his speaking “Every mystery has an answer”, we can readily shape the impression of a man with great intelligence and inflexible will。 In this case, after getting rid of unrelated facts, Sherlock Homes eventually grasped the clue and discovered the amazing f
act。
Needless to say, as a world-renowned masterpiece, Sherlock Holmes and the Duke’s Son has attracted and is still charming numerous readers from all corners of the world and people from all walks of life。 The “Holmes series” has already set up a standard against which all the following detective fictions are measured。 Sherlock Holmes, beyond all doubt, has bee a name firmly rooted in people’s memories。 Although Dr。 Watson’s closing The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes in 1927 was a GREat pity to the readers, the discontinuance of the entire “Holmes series” may have actually added to the legendary stature of Sherlock Holmes。

I have never thought so thin a book which is called The Catcher in the Rye can influence me so much。 It makes me feel very impressive。 And after reading this book, I have aroused many thoughts about it。
In today's literature world, The Catcher in the Rye is to be recognized as a modern classic。 After reading this book, adults can increase the understanding of teenagers; young people can increase the understanding of their future life。 No matter whom after reading this book will improve their ability about to be vigilant against the reality。 It also can make you choose one self-reliance way to your future easily。
This book told us a profound significance story。 The of this novel Holden hated all the hypocritical things and really wanted to pursuit the pure reality at first。 Because of the development of his society, he finally submits to the development process of the social reality。 It deeply show the loneliness, loss, pain of younger generation which is grow up after the World War II in U。S。
Well, I think that though Holden used to seeing the reality of Bourgeois society, and he must promise with realistic society in the end, he also have many courage to have a try to rebel against the hypocritical world。 This spirit should be set up if we want to improve the process of the world。
Now, we live in a country, which is in great reformation, and everything in the process of changing development。 Well, with the development of our country; people's thought also is in the change。 At the same time, many people's thoughts start confusion and depression。 They forgotten their initial dreams and have no enthusiasm gradually。 So, in the end, they began to yearn for mediocrity and have nothing to do。
Perhaps we can learn from this book to find our own shadow。 To a certain extent that it reflects many characteristics of the adolescents, and we can also see the dark side of the society。 With the material's progress, the spiritual world is inevitably producing some changes。 At that time, what we need is a change which can make our dream into a reality。 Therefore, what we should do is not to hope, not to wait, not to plain, but from now on, just start from your own efforts and watch your initial dream。 You'd try your best to create the life you want with your own hands。

《小王子》英語讀后感
This story’s name is “The little prince”。 As it known to all, we will encounter a lot of difficulties, even hardships。 Different people may have different ways to deal with them。 After reading The Little Princess, I am deeply impressed by Sara’s way to deal with difficulties。 The Little Princess was written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, a famous novelist and dramatist。 Sara, the heroine of the novel, was born in a rich family。 In order to get a better education, her father took her from India to London so that she could go to the best school。 Because Sara was kind-hearted, generous and most of all—rich, she was loved by everyone。 All went well until her father died in an accident。 Everything changed pletely。 She didn’t understand why the teachers and classmates treated her so badly。 Even the principal who used to be fond of her, made her work 16 hours a day。 Sara’s miserable life began。When I finished reading the book, I was shocked by what the unimaginable pain Sara had suffered
after her father’s death。 She used to be a happy, worriless, and rich Princess, but now she was a lonely and poor servant。 She had to work very hard without any rest but only had little food。 Besides she had to endure the unfriendly and even rude ways that her classmates treated her。 All teachers and students in the school looked down upon her。 The most important fact is that Sara had lost the love and care of her parents。What a mighty pain! If you were Sara, could you stand such pain? Needless to say, an 11 years old girl, even if it were an adult, he might not put up with it。 But to my surprise, Sara faced it bravely。
Despite of the torture of the principal and all those pressures above, she still was optimistic towards life。 By reading this novel, I felt inspired and think much。 When we meet such difficulties, what should we do? Some people always plain that the fate is unfair to them。 Some people can’t sustain the hardships and choose to give up。 Few of them even try to mit suicide because they lack the courage to overe it。 Compared with Sara—an eleven years old girl who can treat the pressure of life with optimistic spirit, these people’s performances are sounded so lamentable。 Why can’t they make it?However, what impress me most are her characteristics and the thought of her “being a real princess。” This “real princess” does not mean luxury palaces, beautiful clothes and the apple of the others’ eyes, but being kind, generous and having good manners。 It is unnecessary for “a real princess” to be strong in body, but she must be strong in will。 Sara is a real princess in my heart all the time, whethe
r she was rich and wore beautiful clothes in the classroom or she was cold and hungry in the attic, just because she had the good characters and kind heart。 The story went on。 Fortunately, a friend of Sara’s father found her and told her that her father left a great sum of money to her。 I pray and believe that every good person in the world deserve a good result, and of course, we are the same。

《小婦人》英語讀后感
Before I read this book, I had watched a cartoon movie made by Japan. So I have a strong interest on it.
It all begins in the dead of winter; The Christmas Season. The coldest one of all, were the war has made fuel for heating very scarce. While her husband is off at war, Marmee is left alone to raise their four daughters: Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy.
On Christmas Eve, Marmee has just arrived home from passing out food to the less fortunate with a letter from her husband, the girls' father. The all gather together around the fire to read the letter. Afterwards, the girls are teary eyed. Marmee kisses them and they are off to bed.
Jo is longing to become a writer. So, every night she stays up late writing the script for soap operas. As morning comes she is the last one awake. The table is set, and food prepared for their Christmas feast.
As dusk falls, the girls are all up in the attic acting out Jo's play, which she reads from the local (fake) newspaper. As they are performing, their rich, next-door neighbors grandson watches from the window.
The 2 oldest girls: Jo and Meg, get ready to attend the Christmas Ball. While Jo is curling Meg's hair, there is a strange smell to the air. Amy screams, Megs hair is being singed. They continue digging through the old clothes bin for a pair of white gloves.
One of the prominent themes in Little Women is the coming of age or maturation of the girls. During the course of the novel we see them grow in many ways -- physically, intellectually, and especially emotionally. One question which readers must ask themselves is whether the views the characters have on the coming of age process are shared by Alcott. If they aren't, what are Alcott's views and how do they differ from those of the women in her story?
It is interesting to examine the last half of Chapter 20, “Confidential.” Jo addresses the maturation issue as she speaks with Marmee of the situation between Meg and Mr. Brooke. The possible love between these two represents one of the very important aspects in coming of age for a teenage girl. Jo treats this natural process as if it were some sort of disease, however. Jo cannot understand why Meg would want to stop behaving “l(fā)ike a sensible creature” (p.202), and refers to love as “such nonsense.”

《傲慢與偏見》
many people simply regard pride and prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. she perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people in her works vivid characters. the characters have their own personalities. mrs. bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. mr. bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, mr. darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. even the five daughters in bennet family are very different. jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. mary likes reading classic books. (actually she is a pedant.) kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, lydia. lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. when i read the book, i can always find the same personalities in the society now. that is why i think this book is indeed the representative of the society in britain in the 18th century.
the family of gentleman in the countryside is jane austen’s favourite topic. but this little topic can reflect big problems. it concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in britain in her century. you can find these from the very beginning of this book.
the first sentence in this book is impressive. it reads: “it is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”. the undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession.
people always think that austen was an expert at telling love stories. in fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. after reading this book, i know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.
i couldn’t forget how eager mrs. bennet wants to marry off her daughters. if you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, i must mention the situation in britain at that time. only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions. younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions. jane austen told us that money and possession determined everything, including marriage and love in her century.
in “pride and prejudice”, the sister of mr. bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying jane because the bennets don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them. from this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. the society, the relatives would not allow them to get married.
in modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind. a lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages. education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage. marry for money is still a big problem in our society. we can’t help thinking: can money determine everything?
austen left this problem for us to think. the genius of jane austen lies in this perfect simplicity, the simplicity that reflects big problems. although austen was only 21 when she wrote “pride and prejudice”, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. the plots in her works are always very natural. the development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics. i think the depth of pride and prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and classic. today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.

呼嘯山莊讀后感
Published in 1847, WUtheRING HEIGHTS was not well received by the reading public, many of whom condemned it as sordid, vulgar, and unnatural--and author Emily Bronte went to her grave in 1848 believing that her only novel was a failure. It was not until 1850, when WUTHERING HEIGHTS received a second printing with an introduction by Emily's sister Charlotte, that it attracted a wide readership. And from that point the reputation of the book has never looked back. Today it is widely recognized as one of the GREat novels of English literature.
Even so, WUtheRING HEIGHTS continues to divide readers. It is not a pretty love story; rather, it is swirling tale of largely unlikeable people caught up in obsessive love that turns to dark madness. It is cruel, violent, dark and brooding, and many people find it extremely unpleasant. And yet--it possesses a grandeur of language and design, a sense of tremendous pity and GREat loss that sets it apart from virtually every other novel written.
the novel is told in the form of an extended FLASHback. After a visit to his strange landlord, a newcomer to the area desires to know the history of the family--which he receives from Nelly Deans, a servant who introduces us to the Earnshaw family who once resided in the house known as Wuthering Heights. It was once a cheerful place, but Old Earnshaw adopted a “Gipsy” child who he named Heathcliff. And Catherine, daughter of the house, found in him the perfect companion: wild, rude, and as proud and cruel as she. But although Catherine loves him, even recognizes him as her soulmate, she cannot lower herself to marry so far below her social station. She instead marries another, and in so doing sets in motion an obsession that will destroy them all.
WUtheRING HEIGHTS is a bit difficult to “get into;” the opening chapters are so dark in their portrait of the end result of this obsessive love that they are somewhat off-putting. But they feed into the flow of the work in a remarkable way, setting the stage for one of the most remarkable structures in all of literature, a story that circles upon itself in a series of repetitions as it plays out across two generations. Catherine and Heathcliff are equally remarkable, both vicious and cruel, and yet never able to shed their impossible love no matter how brutally one may wound the other.
As the novel coils further into alcoholism, seduction, and one of the most elaborately imagined plans of revenge it gathers into a ghostly tone: Heathcliff, driven to madness by a woman who is not there but who seems reflected in every part of his world--dragging her corpse from the grave, hearing her calling to him from the moors, escalating his brutality not for the sake of brutality but so that her memory will never fade, so that she may never leave his mind until death itself. Yes, this is madness, insanity, and there is no peace this side of the grave or even beyond.
It is a stunning novel, frightening, inexorable, unsettling, filled with unbridled passion that makes one cringe. Even if you do not like it, you should read it at least once--and those who do like it will return to it again and again

Learn to Live
——my thoughts after reading Joan of Arc
Sunshine shines over the statue in Orleans. The ordinary but famous girl named Joan is riding on her horse, smiling and looking down at the land that she has loved and fought on. She is the heroine of France, the saint from heaven. Her influences shine over every person’s heart, and I am deeply impressed by her story.
When Louis XIII was the king, the British and the Burundians invaded France and wanted to have the northern part of France. Joan helped French people coronate their new king, Louis XIV, getting almost all the invaded land back with the help of three saints. But after that, she was caught by the Burundians and was burnt on a cross by her enemy. This is the famous story about Joan, the saint. From a village girl to a national heroine, she only used a few years. How could Joan of Arc do that? I wonder.
Someone says the saints have chosen her and the God has given her power. But actually the real virgin doesn’t exist, From the birth of Jesus Christ in the first century, people have controlled the Christianity. I think the religion has become a tool between people. This kind of opinion about the success of Joan must be wrong.
Someone said, Joan had this wonderful success because of her confidence and will. I quite agree with this opinion. Because there aren’t any virgins in the world, so I think the appearance of the saints was only in Joan’s mind, actually nothing special happened to Joan. I think the things which really mattered were Joan’s thoughts. In my opinion, Joan must have some military ability to lead the whole army, because of her unusual image, Joan became more confident to the success. It let Joan had the will to be successful. So the success before did not happen by accident,. After some battles, Joan said that she had lost her support from the saints, but actually this didn’t mind. The more important thing was that she had lost her confidence and will, so she lost the battle at last.
So I think confidence and will are just like the foundation of success. All the success depends on them.
In the real world, confidence and will is always very important. During the XX Athens Olympic Games, Li Ting and Sun Tiantian have won the gold medal for the women’s double in the tennis game. It was the first time our anthem playing on the tennis court. Some medium says that they have won by chance. It was only a fairy tale. But I don’t think so. Actually they have won because of their believing in themselves, because they have confidence and will, so they have created a fairy tale in Greece. Their confidence and will have made the success, not by accident.
In our daily life, we must have confidence and will as well. Before the test we need to be confident to our actual strength or we’ll not give full play to our initiative. We need to be confident when we are speaking in public or others will not remember you among all the speakers. We need to have will in studying or we’ll not learn things solidly. We need to have will in our daily life or we’ll give up the things we are doing now. If we have confidence and will in our daily life, then I believe you’ll live brighter.
In this story, I also have some other opinions about some other scenes. For instance, I don’t like the way the saints treated Joan when Joan forgot the birthday of Virgin Mary. I think they have to give some time for her to explain herself. I like the way that Joan proved herself bravely as a female. I think the most important thing is not the differences in ***, but your views to this really matter.
So learn from this story, learn Joan’s braveness and her pureness, and learn to believe yourself, and get rid of all the bad habits and personalities of the characters in this story. We can avoid to be a coward, to be selfish and fatuous. Then every good personality we learn will be a blooming flower in our garden of heart and we’ll live with a life full of fragrantce!

《哈姆雷特》
Shakspere (wrong spelling) created Hamlet--a man with wisdom and courage .In order to revenge on his uncle for killing his father, he pretented (spelling mistake) to be mad and suffered a series of misery. On the contrary, we can also say that Hamlet is rude and selfish for he did not think twice before his revenge . if (Capitalize “If” since it is the beginning word of the sentence.) a country has no king, how can a country keep alive (You need a question mark here since it is a question.) So, every thing has two sides, the bright side and adumbral side. Every time we make a decision we have to think twice.
Comment:
Be careful with your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Too many uncessary mistakes.
It is good that you looked at both the dark and bright sides of Hamlet. Thats quite objective and convincing.
篇三十七:經(jīng)典英文讀后感
Here I am sitting on a couch alone, thinking about what I have just finished reading with tears of sadness filling my eyes and fire of indignation filling my heart, which revived my exhausted soul that has already been covered by the cruelty and the selfishness of the secular world for a long time. It is truly what I felt after reading Oliver Twist, written by the prominent British author Charles Dickens.
The resonance between me and the book makes me feel not only the kindness and the wickedness of all the characters in the novel, but what this aloof society lacks, and what I lack deep inside. These supreme resources I’m talking about right now are somewhat different from minerals, oil that we usually mention. They’re abstract like feelings, and some kinds of spiritual stimulation that all of us desire anxiously from one another —— love and care.
Brownlow’s own son. One day, however, Mr. Brownlow asked Oliver to return some books to the bookseller and to send some money for the new books that he had already collected. The thief Oliver once stayed with kidnapped him. After that he disappeared in Mr. Brownlow’s life. Searching for a while, Mr. Brownlow had to believe the fact that he had run away with his money. But dramatically, they came across each other again a few years later. Without hesitation, Mr. Brownlow took Oliver home for the second time not caring if he had done something evil.
Perhaps most of us would feel confused about Mr. Brownlow’s reaction. But as a matter of fact, this is just the lesson we should learn from him. Jesus said in the Bible. “Forgive not seven times, but seventy-times seven.” Why is that? Because forgiveness is our ability to remove negative thoughts and neutralize them so our energy may be spent on doing what we came here for. We cannot move forward in our future if past issues cloud our thinking. Stop put Mr. Brownlow into the list of your models. Always give people a second chance no matter what they might have done. That’s also a substantial part of loving and caring others.
Charles Dickens said:“Love makes the world go around.” These immortal words have inspired and will keep on inspiring us to chant the melody of love and to say the prayer of care forevermore. Let us, therefore, enjoy life and treat other people lovingly. These principles are the roots and foundations of beliefs supporting this article and our mission together.
篇三十八:經(jīng)典英文讀后感
Jane Eyre — A Beautiful Soul
Jane Eyre, is a poor but aspiring, small in body but huge in soul, obscure but self-respecting girl. After we close the covers of the book, after having a long journey of the spirit, Jane Eyre, a marvelous figure, has left us so much to recall and to think:
We remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past.
We remember her pursuit of justice. It’s like a companion with the goodness. But still, a virtuous person should promote the goodneon one side and must check the badneon the other side.
We remember her self-respect and the clear situation on equality. In her opinion, everyone is the same at the God’s feet. Though there are differences in status、in property and also in appearance, but all the human being are equal in personality.
We also remember her striving for life, her toughneand her confidence…
When we think of this girl, what she gave us was not a pretty face or a transcendent temperament that make us admire deeply, but a huge charm of her personality.
Actually, she wasn’t pretty, and of course, the ordinary appearance didn’t make others feel good of her, even her own aunt felt disgusted with it. And some others even thought that she was easy to look down on and to tease, so when MiIngram met Jane Eyre, she seemed quite contemptuous, for that she was obviously much more prettier than ‘the plain and ugly governess’. But as the little governehad said: ‘Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulleand heartless? You think wrong!’ This is the idea of equality in Jane Eyre’s mind. God hadn’t given her beauty and wealth, but instead, God gave her a kind mind and a thinking brain. Her idea of equality and self-respect impreus so much and let us feel the power inside her body.
In my mind, though a person’s beauty on the face can make others once feel that one is attractive and charming, if his or her mind isn’t the same beautiful as the appearance, such as beauty cannot last for, when others find that the beauty which had charmed them was only a falsity, it’s not true, they will like the person no more. For a long time, only a person’s great virtue, a noble soul, a beautiful heart can be called as AN EVERLASTING BEAUTY, just as Kahill Gibran has said, that ‘Beauty is a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted’. I can feel that how beauty really is, as we are all fleshly men, so we can’t distinguish whether a man is of nobleneor humbleness, but fleshly men, so we can’t distinguish whether a man is of nobleneor humbleness, but as there are great differences in our souls, and from that, we can know that whether a man is noble or ordinary, and even obscure, that is, whether he is beautiful or not.
Her story makes us thinking about life and we learn much from her experience, at least, that is a fresh new recognition of the real beauty.

This story’s name is “The little prince”。 As it known to all, we will encounter a lot of difficulties, even hardships. Different people may have different ways to deal with them. After reading The Little Princess, I am deeply impressed by Sara’s way to deal with difficulties. The Little Princess was written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, a famous novelist and dramatist. Sara, the heroine of the novel, was born in a rich family. In order to get a better education, her father took her from India to London so that she could go to the best school. Because Sara was kind-hearted, generous and most of all—rich, she was loved by everyone. All went well until her father died in an accident. Everything changed completely. She didn’t understand why the teachers and classmates treated her so badly. Even the principal who used to be fond of her, made her work 16 hours a day. Sara’s miserable life began. When I finished reading the book, I was shocked by what the unimaginable pain Sara had suffered after her father’s death. She used to be a happy, worriless, and rich Princess, but now she was a lonely and poor servant. She had to work very hard without any rest but only had little food. Besides she had to endure the unfriendly and even rude ways that her classmates treated her. All teachers and students in the school looked down upon her. The most important fact is that Sara had lost the love and care of her parents. What a mighty pain! If you were Sara, could you stand such pain? Needless to say, an 11 years old girl, even if it were an adult, he might not put up with it. But to my surprise, Sara faced it bravely.
Despite of the torture of the principal and all those pressures above, she still was optimistic towards life. By reading this novel, I felt inspired and think much. When we meet such difficulties, what should we do? Some people always complain that the fate is unfair to them. Some people can’t sustain the hardships and choose to give up. Few of them even try to commit suic ide because they lack the courage to overcome it. Compared with Sara—an eleven years old girl who can treat the pressure of life with optimistic spirit, these people’s performances are sounded so lamentable. Why can’t they make it?However, what impress me most are her characteristics and the thought of her “being a real princess.” This “real princess” does not mean luxury palaces, beautiful clothes and the apple of the others’ eyes, but being kind, generous and having good manners. It is unnecessary for “a real princess” to be strong in body, but she must be strong in will. Sara is a real princess in my heart all the time, whether she was rich and wore beautiful clothes in the classroom or she was cold and hungry in the attic, just because she had the good characters and kind heart. The story went on. Fortunately, a friend of Sara’s father found her and told her that her father left a great sum of money to her. I pray and believe that every good person in the world deserve a good result, and of course, we are the same.
