AstheprofessorinchargeofVVV'sstudentunion,IspentseveralyearssupervisingandworkingcloselywithPan,whoservedastheunion'schairpersonandmonitor.Pan'sworkincludedmanagingtheroutineaffairsofhisclassof76studentsandplanningmanystudentactivities.Consequently,throughourclosecontact,IgainedathoroughunderstandingofandrespectforPan'scharacter,hisstrongorganizationalskills,andhisleadershipability.Forexample,infall1997,Xiaoorganizedaneveningpartyforincomingfreshmen.Istillvividlyremembertheparty'sresoundingsuccess,aswellasPan'sunswervingattentiontodetails.
